Self-Compassion: A Stealth Super-Power

Many of us have internalized the idea that in order to succeed, we have to be hard on ourselves. We believe that a harsh inner critic is an essential companion on the journey to excellence. However, research shows that self-compassion is actually far more effective than self-criticism when it comes to staying motivated, persisting in the face of challenges, and moving toward our goals with fierceness and optimism. Join Karen Bulmer as we explore what self-compassion is, what it isn’t, and how to cultivate it in and out of the practice room.

Summer Projects: How to Effectively Navigate Time Off

Musicians face a variety of challenges during the summer months. Some may find themselves with several months with little work or structure.
