Join our panel of military musicians, from across the country and from all three services (Navy, Army and Air Force) for a discussion on their experiences in the Music Branch of the Canadian Armed Forces.

“What brings you here?”

Join our panelists for a session in which they describe their motivations for joining the military as musicians, what to expect as a new or prospective member of the Canadian Armed Forces, and what advice they have for making it through the gauntlet of Basic Training.

 Summertime

Many of the most interesting and rewarding aspects of musical life of the military take place in the summer months, when the weather is warm, and employment opportunities abound throughout the country. Learn about the opportunities which exist in the military for musicians across Canada during this important time of the year, when it’s summertime and the living’s easy.

Life in Uniform

What is life really like as a musician in the military: from the day to day as a Regular Force full time musician, to the week to week of a musician in the part-time Reserves? Hear our panelists discuss the realities of life as a military musician, and what the Canadian Armed Forces does for them in their lives as musicians and as women in the military.

Beyond the Sea

Arguably the most important and fulfilling aspects of being a musician in the military, are showcasing our talents internationally, and taking part in major military commemorations and ceremonies. In this session, we will hear the experiences of our panelists as they tell us about some of the opportunities which they’ve had to represent Canada on the world stage.
